KKR name Dushmantha Chameera as replacement for Gus Atkinson

NEW DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday announced the inclusion of Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera as a replacement for English bowler Gus Atkinson in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL).

According to a statement from the IPL organisers, Chameera will be joining KKR at a reserve price of Rs 50 lakh.

Having previously been a part of Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2018 and 2021 seasons, Chameera represented Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 2022 season. During that season, he showcased his bowling prowess by claiming nine wickets from 12 matches.

Gujarat Giants and RCB name replacements for WPL

Rising sensation Kashvee Gautam, the most expensive uncapped Indian player in the Women's Premier League (WPL), will miss the second edition due to an injury. Gujarat Giants, who had secured Kashvee's services for Rs 2 crore, have chosen Mumbai's Sayali Sathgare as her replacement at a reserve price of Rs 10 lakh.

In another development, India all-rounder Kanika Ahuja is also ruled out of WPL 2024 due to an injury. RCB have announced Shradda Pokharkar, a left-arm fast bowler from Maharashtra, as Kanika's replacement. Pokharkar has been signed at a reserve price of Rs 10 lakh.
