Kjetil Knutsen won't rule out Celtic Park strip routine as Bodo Glimt boss jokes he'll copy Ronny Deila

Kjetil Knutsen won’t rule out doing a Ronny Deila strip routine if his Bodo/Glimt side shock Celtic.

But the in-demand boss is convinced his Norwegian shock troops won’t be exposed at Celtic Park.

Knutsen was inspired by the former Hoops boss’ title win with Stromgodset as he repeated the feat with another unfashionable side.

He watched Deila win silverware with Celtic and clocked his old pal getting his gear off to celebrate MLS glory with New York City late last year.

Knutsen is hoping to keep his clobber on in Glasgow in the Europa Conference League clash and he won’t rely on Ronny to fill him in on what to expect.

The 51-year-old– who was linked with the Rangers job last year – said: “I saw Ronny stripping in New York. That’s just him!

“Maybe it’s a Norwegian thing. Will I do the same in Glasgow if we win?

“We will wait and see!

“I remember Ronny winning the title with Stromsgodset, then he went to Celtic and he is obviously in New York now.

“I know him and he is a good guy.

“But I won’t ask him about Celtic, as I never call another manager about an opponent.

“I want to watch them and find my own way to find a plan when we play them. That’s my way to do it.

“We use a lot of time to study our opponent but it is more important for us to develop our team.

“We play the same way home and away against teams, that’s just the way we do it here.

“If you are not good enough then that’s OK for me, but if you can learn something from the match I am happy.”

Knutsen is one of the hottest properties in Europe after leading Glimt to back to back titles and in to Europe – with the stunning stand out 6-1 win against Roma in the group stages.

The Bobo boss insisted Celtic won’t make the same mistake as Jose Mourinho’s men and underestimate his side.

Knutsen said: “Will Celtic be like Roma and be unprepared and moan about everything? Absolutely not.

“Roma were not prepared for the game. They had played Juventus before facing us and then they had Napoli after our game.

“We met them at a good time but we played so well against them. That’s history now and we can’t think about the games against Roma.

“Jose Mourinho was really nice after the game, he was angry especially after the second game in Italy when we drew 2-2.

“But he is an excellent coach.”

Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou is an admirer of Knutsen and his attacking outlook.

And the Glimt gaffer insisted he won’t change for Celts.

Knutsen said: “We have our own style here and we want to find players who can play Bodo Glimt football.

“We want players who really want to develop every single day.

“We have a tough mentality here – at least I hope so.

“But it’s the same in Scotland. It’s tough there too, but we work hard every day.

“I don’t know if we are underestimated.

“We just make sure we have people here who are on the same wavelength and we work really hard.”

Knutsen has been linked with a string of jobs across Europe and was touted with the Rangers position after Steven Gerrard’s departure.

But he has built Bodo up from the bottom and his focus remains on his current club.

Knutsen said: “It’s not difficult. I want to develop players. They all have dreams and if they come true then it’s nice to be part of it.

“It’s the same with the coaches. If you are doing well then maybe clubs are looking at Bodo.

“For me it’s more important to focus on Bodo Glimt and continuing to do my job.

“There’s no secret. It’s not just me. There’s a lot of people working together here.”
