An adorable kitten that shares striking resemblance with Baby Yoda has been rescued.
The two or three week old cat was found in the middle of the road by firefighters in California where devastating wildfires continue to burn.
The poor moggy "came in covered in smoke and ash" according to the North Valley Animal Disaster Group, who have now found a loving foster home for her.
The shelter shared two pictures on Facebook that showed how the kitten's ears go straight out at both sides - an uncanny resemblance to the Star Wars character that made the group name her Baby Yoda.
It wrote: "Over this past weekend, Firefighters rushed this tiny 2 or 3-week old kitten to the Cal Oak Animal Shelter.
"They found her in the middle of the road on their route, thank goodness!"
After receiving immediate medical attention, the kitten was given a bath and a lot of love.
According to the group she is currently "being cared for by a medical foster to receive the special care she needs."
Since sharing the post on social media, North Valley vice president Norm Rosene told CNN : "Baby Yoda will have no problem finding a home."
The rescue group waits at least a month for displaced victims of fires to claim their rescued pets before they are offered up for adoption.
She said: "Who knows, Baby Yoda's parents might be out there looking for her and waiting to get her back."
