KitKat to bring back Chunky Cookie Dough and Mint flavours for a limited time

Earlier this week we discovered that McDonald's is launching a new KitKat McFlurry and frappé, and now we have more exciting news for chocolate fans.

Two of KitKat's most popular Chunky bars are making a comeback: Cookie Dough and Mint.

The cookie dough flavour first landed on UK shop shelves in 2016, while mint was released in 2013.

Chunky Cookie Dough will be back in stores this Sunday (July 26th) - but only until 2021. It contains a crisp wafer, coated in a thick layer of cookie dough filling and covered in milk chocolate.

Mint will follow up slightly later, from August 13th, and will only be around for one production run. Meaning fans will need to be quick to avoid missing out on the treat - which is covered in milk chocolate.

Both bars are priced at 65p each or two for £1, but prices may vary from store to store.

Their relaunch is part of a KitKat Chunky 'Flavourites' campaign which aims to introduce new flavours and bring back fan favourites every year.

Sascha Macchi, brand manager for KitKat said: “We know KitKat fans love the opportunity to rediscover limited edition flavours and this is why we are bringing back two huge favourites this year. As a nation, we cannot get enough of cookie dough, so we are expecting consumers to go wild for the return of KitKat Chunky Cookie Dough.

“The UK is also a huge fan of minty treats, so we expect KitKat Chunky Mint to be flying off the shelves as soon as it leaves our production line in York! What’s more, it’s available for a limited time only, so we urge fans to get theirs quick!”

KitKat Chunky was first released in 1999 and over the years its flavours have included peanut butter, hazelnut, coconut, chocolate fudge and New York cheesecake.

Meanwhile Cadbury recently launched three new limited-edition Dairy Milk bar flavours.

The new flavours - Coconutty, Crunchy Honeycomb and Out of the Blueberry - are available at supermarkets across the country at £1.49 each.
