Kitkat launch new special edition gin and tonic flavoured bar

Kitkats have just got a fancy upgrade - with Nestlé launching brand new editions of the famous snack that feature handmade bars and posh flavour combinations.

A few of the new deluxe Kitkat flavours include 'Zingtastic gin and tonic', as well as cherry bakewell, lemon posset, whisky and ginger and Earl grey, which all come in luxurious eight-finger bars.

However, rather than picking them up at your local Tesco or from the work vending machine, sadly the special Kitkats are being reserved for John Lewis.

They look VERY different (KitKat)

Customers can buy the 14 special edition bars via pop-ups in 30 John Lewis branches around the country, with all the pimped Kitkat bars from September 26 until December 24, also coming in a bespoke presentation box too - although there's no word on pricing just yet.

If none of the luxurious new flavours take your fancy, you can create your own instead, choosing from either milk, dark, white or ruby chocolate and then adding up to three ingredients, such as meringue, mini marshmallows or honeycomb.

There's over 1500 different flavour combinations up for grabs, and if you don't have a John Lewis near you, you'll be able to invent yours online instead and get it delivered to your house, when the new Kitkat dedicated Chocolatory website opens up later this year.

If you live near York, there's also a separate pop-up launching inside the York chocolate Story attraction, where the KitKat was first created back in 1935.

Rabia Khad, head of KitKat Chocolatory for Nestle, said the launch was the "biggest news for KitKat since the introduction of the KitKat Chunky bar 20 years ago".

You can also make your own - even using ruby chocolate (KitKat)

The full list of new Kitkat flavours include six special editions: Nuttylicious, Billionaire's Treasure, Jewels of the East, Springtime in Japan, Whisky and ginger and Zingtastic gin and tonic.

There's also eight 'Best of British' editions, including Eton Mess, Cherry Bakewell, Marmalade, Apple and Rhubarb Crumble, Earl Grey, Blackberry and Elderflower, Lemon Posset and Dandelion and Burdock.

For the create Your Break bar, pick from milk, dark, ruby or white chocolate and add up to three ingredients, choosing from salted caramel chunks, cocoa nibs, dried raspberry, meringue, mini marshmallows, shortbread pieces, chocolate brownie crumbs, rose petals, toasted coconut flakes, honeycomb, cherry pieces, popping candy, pistachio pieces and hazelnut pieces.
