A kitchen fitter carrying out renovations stumbled across a handwritten note underneath a kitchen floor - and a kind gift.
He shared the surprise on TikTok where he explained: "So we're stripping out a kitchen and we found a message under the floor."
The note written in felt tip said: "Jack and May lived here - three kids and a dog. Kitchen done up during April and May 2001..
"All the best, have a drink on us."
The previous tenants thoughtfully left a small bottle of Glenkinchie whiskey tied to the wall.
While the note isn't the most exciting message, it's always nice to learn more about former tenants - and the bottle of booze is a nice touch.
The video racked up thousands of views on TikTok after being shared on the video platform.
One person commented: "Awww that was so sweet."
Another said: "How lovely is that. I might do that when mine eventually gets done."
Others pointed out that the whiskey might be worth something if they hold on to it for a while longer.
One viewer advised: "Potentially a desirable whiskey, could be worth a wee bit."
Meanwhile, another person shared how they had a similar idea when refitting their kitchen - but the end result was much less mature.
They joked: "I did this in my kitchen when I refitted it, except I drew [genitals] and the date instead," along with a laughing emoji.
Not quite as meaningful but it would probably raise a smile when discovered years later.
Meanwhile, a woman left people in stitches after revealing she's had to cover a tattoo for a year because it has taken on a different meaning.
Leah Holland, 25, from Kentucky, U.S, got the tattoo at the beginning of March last year - just before a lot of people started taking the pandemic seriously and countries globally locked down.
