Since the global launch of Umamusume: Pretty Derby, the game everyone has come to like has started to catch up to the JP version of the game slowly. The following banner introduced the support card that many players have been saving up for since the game's release, Kitasan Black. Let's explore why many consider Kitasan Black a game-changing Support Card in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
How to Get Kitasan Black in Umamusume

You'll be able to pull for Kitasan Black in Umamusume: Pretty Derby at an increased scout rate on a limited spotlight banner from July 16th, 2025, 10:00 PM (UTC) until August 1st. After the limited banner is over, Kitasan Black may appear on future Support Card banners. However, there is no information on when that might happen.
Kitasan Black Support Card Effects
Kitasan Black, at level 50, is without a doubt one of the strongest Speed Support Cards in Umamusume: Pretty Derby. And, since Speed is the most crucial stat for many characters, it is a card that you will utilize in almost every career playthrough. However, before you fully uncap it and level it up to 50, Kitasan Black is only as strong as many other Speed Support Cards out there.
There is one reason for this: her Specialty Priority bonus is unlocked only at level 45. Specialty Priority is a stat that is essential for every good Support Card, as it causes it to appear more frequently on the training that matches its type. Additionally, Kitasan Black enables your characters to acquire powerful skills that restore their endurance and boost their Speed on straights and corners. Here are the complete stats of Kitasan Black at level 50:

How to Pull Successfully Kitasan Black
If you plan on pulling for Kitasan Black like many other Umamusume: Pretty Derby trainers, you will need a lot of Carats to uncap it fully. So, complete every easy mission you can that awards a large number of Carats. Also, try to enter the promotion zone in Team Trials, as those reset weekly, and you can earn up to 1,500 Carats from the first promotions. Please note that the limited Kitasan Black banner will be active for two weeks, allowing you to roll it as you earn more Carats.
However, unless you started saving up since Umamusume: Pretty Derby was released, you have slim chances of getting five Kitasan Black Support Cards without purchasing extra Carats with real money. If you decide to go this route, be sure to buy the limited Carat packs first, as they offer the best value for your money. Should You Pull for Kitasan Black?
If you have enough Carats to spend and absolutely want to get Kitasan Black, then feel free to pull for her. However, keep in mind that until you can level up Kitasan Black to level 50, she is pretty mediocre. For comparison, the King Halo (SR) and Kitasan Black (SSR) are equally strong at level 40. So, unless you are confident in being able to uncap Kitasan Black fully, it might be better to save your Carats and instead borrow Kitasan Black from other players who have her at level 50.
