Kiss FM host Daisy Maskell: I launched my career from my bedroom and so can you

The new co-host of Kiss FM’s breakfast show said she went from being a “geography nerd” to presenting one of radio’s most coveted slots in a year.

Daisy Maskell also insisted that if she was able to launch her career from her bedroom, so could any youngster.

The 21-year-old, pictured right with co-host Tom Green, 24, who is the former presenter of Kiss FM’s evening show, began their tenure at the beginning of the month.

The duo replaced Rickie, Melvin and Charlie, who moved to Radio 1. Maskell, from north London, told A List: “It has been a very, very quick turnaround for me. Up until a year ago I was pretty much fresh out of school, figuring out what to do.

“I was a geography nerd and probably would have spent my life in waders in a river studying the sediment.

“But I decided not to go to uni and that I would try my hand at this presenting business. You have to realise at a young age that you are capable of anything.”

Latest figures revealed Kiss FM was home to the second most-listened-to breakfast show in London.
