KISS canceled their Thursday night show in Pennsylvania after singer Paul Stanley tested positive for COVID, the band said on Twitter. On the upside, the 69-year-old New York City native and his bandmates have reportedly been inoculated, but Stanley said he’s still experiencing some symptoms.
“I had been sick with flu-like symptoms and was tested repeatedly and was negative. As of late this afternoon I tested positive,” he wrote Thursday.
Stanley also addressed an earlier rumor he’d apparently heard, which made it sound as though he was ready to be intubated.
“PEOPLE!!! I am fine! I am not in ICU!” the rocker tweeted. “My heart allows me to do 26 miles a day on my bike! I don’t know where this came from but it’s absolute nonsense.”
While vaccinated people can still test positive for COVID, they are less likely to suffer severe symptoms.
KISS promised information “ASAP” with regards to future show dates. Their “End of the World Tour,” which is billed as the 48-year-old band’s last, is scheduled to roll through North Carolina on Saturday.
