Kirsty Maxwell's family investigators return to scene of Benidorm balcony plunge

Investigators hired by the family of Kirsty Maxwell are to return to the scene to look for new evidence into her death.

The 27-year-old plunged from the 10th-floor balcony of an apartment in the Spanish resort of Benidorm on April 29, 2017, which was occupied by five English men.

Kirsty was on a hen-do when the tragedy took place.

Now family investigators will question local people and tourists who holidayed there at the same time of year, the BBC reports.

It is hoped the new techniques will uncover information to assist the court-led investigation.

Spanish cops say that Kirsty jumped from the balcony after a night out with friends.

Her family say expert evidence shows that she scaled the barrier then clung to it but lost her grip.

All five men, from Nottingham, who were in the apartment, were questioned following her death but despite several court hearings in Spain, no charges have been brought.

Investigators in Spain have also said there were no outward signs of a struggle, and DNA samples taken from under Kirsty's nails and other parts of her body including her hands and armpits say they have found no 'foreign DNA'.
