Kirsty Maxwell parents in plea to trace mystery English woman who was at scene of tragic balcony fall

The parents of a woman who fell to her death from a Spanish balcony said they are desperate for an English woman who was at the scene to come forward.

Brian and Denise Curry’s daughter Kirsty Maxwell, 27, died in mysterious circumstances during a hen weekend in Benidorm in 2017. Since then, her family, helped by retired detective superintendent David Swindle, have been fighting for answers.

They believe a mystery woman could hold vital evidence about the circumstances surrounding Kirsty’s death.

Kirsty, who had only been married for a few months when she died, plunged from the 10th-floor of a balcony in Apartamentos Payma in a room which was occupied by five men.

They were questioned by Spanish police and in 2019, judge Ana Isabel Garcia-Galbis ruled there was no proof the death was a homicide or that the five men, dubbed the Benidorm Five, could have been involved.

Brian and Denise believe the woman was inside the flat with the men – named as Joseph Graham, Ricky Gammon, Anthony Holehouse, Callum Northridge, and Daniel Bailey – all from the Nottingham area.

Brian, from Livingston, said: “Who is this girl and why hasn’t she come forward? Why were no statements taken from her?”

Brian and Denise will appear with Swindle at the first Scottish CrimeCon in Glasgow in September to discuss the case.

Brian added: “We believe she is a key witness. We just want her to come forward and tell us what she knows. Maybe somebody who knows the men knows her and can tell her we are appealing for her to come forward.”
