Kirstie Allsopp slaps down troll who accuses her of Edinburgh flight blagging

Tensions on Twitter escalated rapidly when Location, Location, Location host Kirstie Allsopp shut down another user claiming she was trying to use her privilege.

Kirstie was replying to British Airways to express her excitement at heading to Edinburgh on Thursday, as well as a holiday later in the year.

The rude tweet that has since been deleted, accused the property presenter of using her celeb status to try and blag a free upgrade with the airline.

Kirstie responded with “It’s Kirstie, with ie. I have a long standing relationship with BA, I have made some internal films for them & supported their work with Comic Relief, they upgrade on points/miles, not celeb status. I have family and friends in the travel industry and know how hard it’s been.”

The travel industry has been struck hard by the pandemic with travel restrictions and border controls being put in place globally.

However as of May 17, Scots have been allowed to travel to green listed countries and around the UK.

Kirstie revealed on Twitter plans to travel up to Edinburgh on Thursday with co-host Phil Spencer.

In a tweet replying to British Airways who announced they were flying from Heathrow again, she said: "What great news, my holiday flight is on the 9th July, all booked, fingers crossed it will go ahead. (come to think of it, Phil & I flying to Edinburgh with you guys on Thursday morning, will have to remember it won’t be so quiet anymore)”

Edinburgh was recently featured on the property show and they highlighted the steep prices for homes.

Phil and Kirstie shared that Edinburgh house prices are 35k more than the average home in the UK.

Excited Edinburgh residents will have to keep an eye out for the pair on Thursday.
