Former police officer Wayne Couzens will spend the rest of his life in jail after he kidnapped, raped and murdered a 33-year-old marketing executive.
He used his police warrant card, handcuffs and knowledge of Covid laws to stage a fake arrest and snatch Ms Everard from the streets of London.

Ms Allsopp faced criticism after she said lockdowns should never be imposed in the wake of the tragedy in response to Jeremy Vine’s tweets.
Mr Vine said: “As a father of 2 teenage girls I have absolutely no idea how to impress on them that a policeman who stops them may be doing so on false pretences; may handcuff them unlawfully; may murder them for his own satisfaction. What do I say to help keep them safe — avoid the police?”
In a now-deleted tweet, Ms Allsopp responded: “No, You ensure that lockdowns are never, ever imposed again.
What is it you think I have “thought” that is so difficult to bear?

Among the sea of comments, people wrote: “@kirstieallsopp the murderer of #SarahEverard did not need Covid to carry out crimes against women, he would have done it at any time. What a crass and insensitive tweet.”

As there was an outpouring of outrage on social media, Ms Allsopp later defended her comments in response to people attacking her.
One person wrote: “Your first thought is to use this murder, which is clearly the fault of the murderer (who would no doubt have found means, regardless), to push your anti lockdown message. I genuinely find it baffling and I wonder where your empathy is? It’s clear you’ve struggled with lockdown.”
The star responded: “I did no such thing. I responded to a question from Jeremy Vine asking should he tell his daughters not to trust the police, I said they should not be given powers they could abuse. It was a response to one person’s question.”
The Standard has approached Channel 4 for further comment.
