Kirstie Allsopp 'cut-off' mid-sentence on GMB amid heated coronavirus row with Piers Morgan

Kirstie Allsopp was 'cut-off' mid-sentence on today's Good Morning Britain amid a heated row with Piers Morgan.

The TV presenter, who was speaking live from her home in Devon, got into a squabble with Piers over his 'anger' during the coronavirus outbreak.

Kirstie claimed it was important to be "calm and sensible" with the nation in lockdown - but Piers reminded her that "people are going to die".

The pair got into a tense stand-off which ended when the GMB theme music started playing while Kirstie was trying to make a point.

It all started when Kirstie said: "I think it's important at this point to be calm and sensible and tone things down a little bit and not be as angry."

Piers replied: "I am angry. People are going to die. For a month people told me to stop scaremongering.

"No one will be saying that in a month. They are building military style field hospitals."

Kirstie pulled Piers up for not letting Health Secretary Matt Hancock "get a word in edgeways" during an interview on Monday.

Piers asked: "You don’t want me to challenge government ministers about this nonsensical farcical mixed message?

Starting her sentence, Kirstie replied: "If you are too angry..."

But she could not finish her sentence as she was drowned out by the sound of the GMB them tune playing.

Defensive Piers claimed that it was not intentional but they had to go to an advert break.

He said: "We didn’t play that deliberately there, Kirstie. We’ve run out of time. I don't like cutting her off like that."

Earlier in the interview, the pair had discussed who should be classified as an essential worker.

Kirstie admitted that it was difficult for construction workers as buildings need to be made safe.

She said: "It' about a list. The problem is everybody is in the same boat. This has come very hard and fast. There is so much to do and sort out.

"Take the parking tickets for example. One hopes they will be voided and the health workers can tear them up."
