Kirkstall Brewery student halls in Leeds with 16 buildings and 828 bedrooms up for sale

Leeds Beckett University student halls are up for sale – the university is looking for a buyer to snap up the historic Kirkstall Brewery Halls of Residence.

The university is currently accepting expressions of interest, a price tag hasn’t yet been released.

The property contains 16 buildings, it dates back to the 18th century and operated as a brewery until the 1980s.

The university, then called Leeds Metropolitan University, eventually purchased the property in 1994 and it became Kirkstall Brewery Student Village.

The site is situated in Broad Lane either side of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and covers a vast 8.7 acres of land.

There are presently 828 student bedrooms with a 55 percent occupancy for the current academic year.

Planning permission would need to be granted for alternative use.
