Kirkgunzeon and Colvend Primary pupils return to class as home schooling ends

All pupils at Colvend and Kirkgunzeon Primaries were back in classes this week.

Youngsters in primaries four to seven returned to school for the first time since the Christmas holidays, with younger children having returned a few weeks ago. All children at Palnackie Primary had already returned.

The end of home schooling also marked the end of the emergency childcare hubs, such as the one at Kirkgunzeon, and thanks go to all the staff who have kept them open.

Partnership head teacher Mrs Alexander said: “Our pupils have been resilient, engaged and creative during lockdown and I have been inspired by their enthusiasm.

“Our staff are most grateful for the support families have been able to offer during these difficult times and we are all excited about a full return - and I’m sure the parents and carers will be too!”
