A Kirkcudbright skipper has been named shellfish fisherman of the year.
Jamie Clarke, who is in charge of Osprey BA 4 for West Coast Sea Products, won the mobile gear category at the Fishing News Awards.
He was nominated after “displaying great leadership abilities, through exemplary work ethic, care of the catch and undertaking of extra responsibilities”.
The winner of the award, which covers the whole of the UK, was decided by a public vote.
Fishing News editor, David Linkie, said: “The awards provide an opportunity to recognise the commitment and skill of those who work endlessly towards this achievement.
“Harvesting a renewable food source from an environment that is constantly challenging and dangerous, requires teamwork of the highest level.
