Kirkcudbright prepares for Riding of the Marches with Kirkin' of the Cornet

The Kirkin’ of the Cornet took place in Kirkcudbright on Sunday.

The principals paraded from Harbour Square to the nearby parish church for the ceremony, where they were presented with the sashes of office and the burgh flag.

This year’s Cornet is Angus Milby and Cornet’s Lass is Hazel Murray. Donald Bell is pursuivant and Diane Warren is courier. The four lynors are Ben Johnstone, Hannah Murray, Tom MacTaggart and Heather Murray.

The Riding of the Marches is on Friday night and starts at 7pm from Dee Walk.
