Kirkcudbright Golf Club ladies have thanked a former member for all her fundraising efforts in aid of local good causes.
For more than 30 years Flora McGowan has asked women who tee off on a Tuesday throughout the winter months for a £1 donation.
All monies received are handed over to local charities once the winter season finishes.
And last week the ladies presented Flora with a bouquet of flowers in recognition of all her good work.
The occasion followed a generous donation to this year’s beneficiary – local care home Merse House.
Flora presented a cheque for £480 to senior support worker Shanna Stitt and resident Carl Oakey.
The cash will go towards the home’s entertainment-fund kitty which pays for residents to have outings.
Kirkcudbright ladies captain Caroline Dodds also attended the cheque handover.
A good plate of soup and sandwiches rounded off the day.
