Kirkcudbright Burns Club celebrate big night with Burns Supper

Kirkcudbright Burns Club held its annual Burns Supper in the Arden House Hotel on Wednesday night.

The evening was chaired by Alistair Crawford with Derek Collins kicking off proceedings by reciting the Selkirk Grace.

Ian Wemyss piped in the haggis with Gordon Halliday carrying out the role of nechman and Ben Durham performing the address. The chairman toasted the king.

Graham Finch gave the Immortal Memory followed by a recitation from Ben and Leon McCaig toasting town and trade.

Bobby Landers gave the toast to agriculture and Gordon Cowan gave the Toast to the Lassies.

Performers throughout the evening included Jim Howard, with songs including Rantin’ Rovin’ Robin, Scots Wha Hae, Green Grow the Rashes o’ and The Star o’ Rabbie Burns.

Gordon rounded off proceedings with the vote of thanks before everyone sang Auld Lang Syne.
