Kirkbean Primary School's newly-decorated hall hosts soup and sandwich fundraiser

The newly-decorated Kirkbean Primary School hall provided a fitting venue for a soup and sandwich fundraiser.

And, as always, the local community lent their full support to boost school coffers to the tune of £350.

Acting head teacher Helen Anderson was delighted with the turnout for the day which was orginised by the parent council and staff.

“Everything we raised will go to parent council funds,” Helen said.

“We are hoping to raise money for a learning assistant and are also saving for playground equipment.

“We want to install an obstacle course in our outside space.

“We made £350 which is really amazing. The place was packed.

“It was a real community event – they all came and anyone who could not make it handed in envelopes with donations.”
