Former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit is once again an Ohio resident. He’s not getting rid of his house in the Nashville area, but is renting a house in the Cincinnati area because his youngest son, Chase, will be a freshman quarterback at power St. Xavier High School.
It all apparently has to do with the passing scheme, abilities and coaching of St. Xavier’s head coach Steve Specht and coordinator Andrew Coverdale.
“We have a lot of respect for St. X, the school and the culture,” Kirk Herbstreit told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “We’re going to try and make it work.”
To make it work, the Herbstreits will have to juggle all sorts of careers, schooling and family demands. By having the houses in both Nashville and Cincinnati, they hope to make it to Chase’s games, while being just an hour and a half away from the campus of Ohio State where one of his twins, Jake, is a student, and Zak is with the OSU football team as a preferred walk-on tight end.

They will also have to work around Kirk’s busy schedule with ESPN and still try to get to Clemson for Jake’s twin, Tye, who is a receiver on the team for Dabo Swinney. Jake was once on the team at Clemson as well but left the program and transferred to Ohio State.
Four sons, a career, two houses, and all that life can throw you seems like an awful lot for the Herbstreits. But if anyone can do it, it’s Herbie and his gang.
