Kirk Herbstreit drops UGA out of top 4

Recently, college football analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit announced his top four teams after week 2 of college football.

In a decision that surprised many fans, Herbstreit elected to remove Georgia, who is ranked number 3 in the AP poll, out of the top four. In their place were Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, and LSU, who earned an impressive road victory at Texas on Saturday.

Herbstreit did, however, include Georgia as part of his “next two” teams in the rankings along with Oklahoma.

Although the opinions of pundits like Herbstreit are somewhat meaningless, it is still surprising to see him remove a consensus top 4 team like Georgia out of that group in his own rankings.
