Kirk Herbstreit drops Ohio State a spot in his college football rankings after week four

It’s no secret that former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit has a love/hate relationship with Buckeye fans. He does his best to remain partial, but some OSU fans see him as a turncoat that will run as far away from the perception that he’s a homer, so much so that he doesn’t give Ohio State the credit its due.

Well, welcome to another installment of that battle between the scarlet and gray ying and the yang because Herbie just released his top four college football teams after week 4, and he has dropped Ohio State — even after a 76-5 bludgeoning in which the Buckeyes couldn’t have played much better.

In previous weeks, Herbstreit had had OSU as his No. 3 team, but he has apparently seen enough of LSU and former Buckeye quarterback Joe Burrow to elevate the Bayou Tigers ahead of Ohio State.

To be fair, it’s all a matter of opinion, and at this point it’s hard to separate the teams at the top because the differences seem razor thin. But — that won’t stop Ohio State fans from giving the ESPN analyst an ear full through social media.

Here’s what Herbstreit’s top four looked like LATE Saturday night.
