Kirk Cousins tried to do something nice for Vikings fans and it immediately backfired

Oh, Kirk Cousins. Sweet, naive Kirk Cousins.

The Vikings quarterback, apparently unaware of the nastiness infesting the popular website Twitter dot com, tried to do something nice for the people: Give away free Vikings swag. What did he get in return? A bunch of snarky replies making reference to the unwieldy contract the Vikings gave him last offseason.

A quick refresher: Cousins was the first player in the era of free agency to receive a fully guaranteed, long-term contract. Minnesota inked the free agent quarterback to a three-year, $84 million deal. The first year of the partnership did not go so well. Cousins struggled in big games and the Vikings, a preseason favorite to win it all, failed to make the playoffs.
