The expected news has officially dropped. According to The Athletic’s Diana Russini, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is set to hit free agency and begin discussions with the Atlanta Falcons.
This was expected as of Sunday night according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Cousins discussing contract details with the Atlanta Falcons is both new news and expected. They have been the front-runner for Cousins’ services if he ended up leaving the Vikings.
Now, this all isn’t to say that Cousins isn’t going to stay in Minnesota, but it’s increasingly less likely that he ends up re-signing with the team. The Vikings likely aren’t going to budge on their contract offer.
