Kirk Cousins reads off his negative draft profile and gets fired up

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins made the media rounds during Super Bowl, and that included joining the Dan Patrick Show.

Patrick has Cousins read off negatives reviews of Cousins coming out of college.

Some of the knocks are solid and still true (Cousins struggles with pressure). Some have been disproved (more than a backup and has solid deep-ball accuracy).

But the thing I found most interesting was how Cousins responded to this. He gets a bit fired up, something Vikings fans would love to see more of in Cousins’ second season with the team.

“Four years now of hovering around .500, eventually, it’s got to change,” Cousins said. “You’ve got to get to 12-4, 11-5, 13-3, whatever it may be. You gotta win playoff games. That knock is going to be there until you win.”

In his first season with the Vikings, Cousins threw for 4,298 yards and a career-high 30 touchdowns. With that, his season felt a bit empty considering the Vikings won just eight games and missed the playoffs.
