Kirk Cousins has nothing but good things to say about Redskins

Former Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins naturally faced plenty of questions about his old team this week.

Cousins leaves the media portion of the week looking good after praising the Redskins.

“They picked me when nobody else did. I was sitting around waiting for a phone call for 2½ days,” Cousins said, according to the Associated Press’ Dave Campbell (h/t Washington Post). “I was given an opportunity to start when there weren’t many people outside of that building who thought I should.”

We’ve asked why Redskins fans seem to dislike the now-Minnesota Vikings quarterback, which is a question certainly worth asking.

But Cousins has been nothing but professional, both in his departure years ago and how he’s handled talking about the organization since.

On the field, Cousins won’t hold back. He’s had a monster two-game stretch with more than 600 total yards and eight total touchdowns.

The emotional reunion for both parties comes on a short week, but none of the vigor went lost in the fray. That short week means the Redskins defense has a lot to prove too against a quarterback looking to put on a show, regardless of whether he’s appreciative.
