It feels like forever ago when we were talking about Kirk Cousins’ early-season struggles.
And while those struggles will likely appear again, like any quarterback, Cousins has been absolutely phenomenal lately.
On Sunday, Cousins threw for 337 yards and four touchdowns, helping lead the Vikings to a 42-30 win over the Lions. The win improved the Vikings to 5-2 on the season.
That marks three-straight games with 300 or more yards for Cousins, and over his last three games, he has 976 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception. It’s worth noting that interception came on a Stefon Diggs drop.
On the season, Cousins has 1,711 passing yards to go with 13 touchdowns. It puts him on pace for 3,910 passing yards and 29 touchdowns.
We all want to talk about Cousins and his guaranteed $84 million contract. But you’d be hard pressed to find a quarterback who has played better than him in October.
Cousins will have his next test in Week 8 against his former team on Thursday Night Football. Heading into Week 7, the now 1-6 Redskins ranked 20th in the league in passing yards allowed and 29th in passing touchdowns allowed.
