Kirk Cousins’ former teammate is firing shots at the QB

Zach Brown and Kirk Cousins were teammates back in 2017 with the Redskins.

Apparently, the linebacker wasn’t very impressed by his quarterback. Now with the Eagles, Brown was firing shots at his former teammate ahead of this week’s Vikings and Eagles game.

“Cousins, I think every defense is going to want that guy to throw the ball,” Brown said after Friday’s practice via ESPN. “For me, that’s probably the weakest part of their offense is him. Everything else is good. They’ve got a good running game, probably one of the best in the league. They have real good receivers. You just want them to pass the ball. You want Kirk Cousins to get it in his hands.”

It’s worth noting that Cousins helped lead the Vikings to a 23-21 win over the Eagles last season, throwing for 301 yards and a touchdown. Brown was still a member of the Redskins when that happened.

Cousins is off to a rough start in 2019, but had nearly 4,300 yards and 30 touchdowns last season.

We’ll see if Cousins uses this as bulletin board material, or if Brown is proven right.

Brown has a Pro Football Focus grade of 57.9, a mark that would rank last on the Vikings.
