Kirk Broadfoot and Rory McKenzie find out their SFA fate as Kilmarnock win one appeal

Kilamarnock have successfully won their appeal against Rory McKenzie's red card against Aberdeen.

But Kirk Broadfoot's bid to have his sending off overturned has been rejected by the governing body and he will miss Saturday's trip to Celtic.

The Rugby Park side ended the 1-0 defeat on Saturday with just eight players after Stuart Findlay was also red carded.

Seething Steve Clarke described referee Steven McLean's display as "the worst refereeing performance I've ever seen in my career".

The disciplinary panel upheld Broadfoot's dismissal for crashing into Joe Lewis but McKenzie had his red downgraded to a yellow after reviewing footage of his clash with Dom Ball.

Kilmarnock said on their official website: "Fast-track tribunal hearings were held over the red cards shown to Kirk Broadfoot and Rory McKenzie during Saturday's post-split clash with Aberdeen at Rugby Park.

"The club can confirm Rory McKenzie's sending off for violent conduct has been reduced to a caution for unsporting behaviour and the player is now available for this weekend's game at Celtic Park.

"However, the panel upheld the referee's decision to show a red card to Kirk Broadfoot for serious foul play and the defender is now banned for our next three Premiership matches."
