UGA is the only team that has not yet allowed a rushing down this college football season, which is especially impressive given that the year is already about half over.
This great defensive effort has not gone unnoticed by head coach Kirby Smart.
“It’s always a point of pride, I think every defense in the nation would tell you that but I don’t want them to throw one in either,” he said on the SEC media teleconference “… we want to keep them out of the end zone altogether… we have to get better on D, we have to tackle, we have to wrap up… when teams have scored on us, it’s just been from farther out.”
The defensive line was considered one of the biggest question marks heading into the season for the Dawgs, but clearly, it’s been one of the teams major strengths thus far.
