Every week of the football season, Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart names three student-athletes of the week, an honor that recognizes players who are putting in work both on the field and in the classroom.
The first player to receive the honor this week was freshman defensive end Nolan Smith. Smith was a big part of Georgia’s most recent victory against Notre Dame, nearly sacking Ian Book on the last play and forcing him to make a desperation heave that was ultimately batted down.
Next up was offensive lineman Cade Mays, who has started all four games for the Dawgs and helped protect Jake Fromm as well as open up holes in the running game against the Irish.
Lastly was defensive back Mark Webb, who also started against Notre Dame and recently recorded six sacks in a win against Murray State.
The Dawgs next take the field on October 5th on the road against Tennessee.
