Kirby Smart names UGA players of the game vs Notre Dame

On Tuesday, UGA head coach Kirby Smart took to Twitter to announce this week’s players of the game, which were based on Georgia’s thrilling 6-point victory over Notre Dame on Saturday.

On offense, tailback D’Andre Swift and quarterback Jake Fromm received the honors. Although it wasn’t an eye-popping stat-line, Swift was still productive with 98 yards and a key touchdown. Fromm also had an efficient outing, going 20-26 for 187 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions.

On defense, the honors went to JR Reed and Divaad Wilson. Both of these players had key interceptions in the game which helped give the Dawgs the momentum necessary to take the W.

On special teams, the honors went to kicker Rodrigo Blankenship and defensive back Ameer Speed. Blankenship went 3-3 on field goals, including 2 from over 40 yards, to give Georgia the edge in the contest. Speed contributed a tackle.
