One of the best ways to gain miles in Kirby Air Riders is by completing checklist objectives, but there’s one particular objective that has players stumped. Similar to the renowned GTA: Vice City – Helicopter Mission, Kirby Air Riders has the Missile Copy Ability mission. It’s one of the Air Ride: Missile checklist goals that says, “Use the Missile Copy Ability to pass 2 riders”.
Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done. But not to fret, since I’ve got your back. Today’s mission (no pun intended) is to finish the Missile Copy Ability objective in one smooth go. While the Missile spawn is random, I’ll tell you the best settings and tricks to increase the odds of the missile spawning. So whether you’re stuck or still working your way up, make sure to give this guide a read.
When & How Do Missiles Spawn?

The more important thing to know is how to acquire a missile in the first place. I mentioned that the spawn was random, but since missiles are a comeback ability, it has a higher chance of spawning if you’re behind your opponents.
Missiles can be acquired through item boxes on the track or by capturing enemies. The latter method is pretty hard since they can activate the missile as you close it, which leaves getting it through an item box.
One problem you might encounter quite frequently while trying this mission is getting UFOs. Like missiles, UFOs are also comeback abilities and have a higher chance of spawning. Still, let me explain the best way to receive a missile and complete the checklist goal fast.
Kirby Air Riders Missile Copy Ability Guide

Settings
Here are the recommended settings for the race. Set these before starting:
- Mode: Air Ride
- Course: Any course that is easy and wide, e.g, Fantasy Meadows, Cyberion Highway, Floria Fields. Long, straight strips are preferred.
- CPU Riders: 2
- CPU Level: 7-9
- CPU Machines: Heavy. Both CPU riders should have the same machine.
- Laps: 20+
- Items: Normal
Following these settings is crucial if you hope to clear this mission in a few tries. The course should be something easy and what you’re familiar with. The objective is not course-specific, so pick whichever one you like.
You need at least 2 CPU riders. Have them on the same machine to ensure they stay close to each other. Keep the number of laps at 20+. Since a lot of this is based on chance, you’ll want the maximum time and number of tries to get it. Some players get it on the second lap while others need to finish 20 before finding the missile.
Guide
These are all the settings you’ll need to complete the Missile Copy Ability mission in Kirby Air Riders. Now follow these steps for the best results:
- When the race starts, let the CPU riders go ahead. This should put you in last place.
- Start your race, collecting as many item boxes as possible along the way.
- Always stay within a 50-150-yard distance of the other riders, but don’t overtake them. Stay in last place.
- If you get a UFO or other abilities, use them or drop them. You only need the missile icon.
- Rinse and repeat with the item boxes until you get the Missile Copy Ability.
- Close in to the CPU riders and wait for a straight patch.
- Activate the ability and zoom past them. Once you’ve passed both of them, there should be a checklist icon informing you of a successful mission.
- You can quit the mission once you see the checkmark.
If you don’t get it in the first few tries, you’ll need to keep trying. This objective is less about skill and more about luck. Just make sure to follow the guide since it offers you the best chance of finding a missile in Kirby Air Riders.
