Kion Etete seals dream move to Champions League finalists Tottenham

Notts County striker Kion Etete has sealed a dream move to Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur.

The fee for the teenage centre-forward remains undisclosed, but the Post understands it is around £200,000.

The 17-year-old recently played for Spurs in the Terborg Tournament in South Africa where they finished in fourth place with the majority of the striker's games coming from the substitutes' bench.

That followed a successful trial spell with Spurs earlier this year when he scored twice in a 5-3 win over West Ham.

Etete made his first-team bow for Notts last season when former boss Harry Kewell played him in a Checkatrade Trophy clash against Newcastle United.

The forward went on to make five appearances for the club and was linked with Nottingham Forest in January as part of the deal which brought Virgil Gomis to Meadow Lane.

Etete's departure means he is the third academy player to move to a Premier League side in recent years.

Jack Bearne left for Liverpool in December 2016 and last summer, the highly-rated midfielder Dongda He sealed a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In statement on the club's website, Notts said: "He leaves with our best wishes for the future."
