The destruction of a football club's equipment has been branded 'senseless' and an emotional setback to the community after the vandalism was discovered this morning.
Kinsealy United's container in Kettles Park appeared to have been torched when it was discovered this morning.
The club posted on Facebook: "This is Paul Gargan of Kinsealy United Football Club.
"Paul is one of our front line heroes working the ambulance and fire crews during the ongoing crisis.
"Paul also takes care of preparing the pitches every weekend throughout the year for the local kids along with coaching his under-13's team.
"Paul was distraught this morning along with all the members of the club to find their container that holds all of their equipment burned out by vandals last night in Kettles Park.
"This is a huge setback for the club and local community both emotionally and financially. A big thanks to Dublin Fire Brigade and An Garda Siochana for their help and support so far."
One person commented: "I’m shocked to hear this. What a senseless act."
Another said: "Disgusted to read this, terrible thing to happen when were living in such hard times especially for the club whom can't wait to get our children back playing."
