Kinross Show has been cancelled

Kinross Show has been called off due to torrential rain.

Organisers today announced that the event, set to take place tomorrow (August 10), will not go ahead with the "health and safety of visitors at the forefront" of their decision.

The show joins Perth Highland Games and the Crieff Beer and Gin Festival which have also been called off due to the poor weather.

A post on the Kinross Show Facebook page said: "It’s with a very heavy heart the committee have just decided to cancel the show tomorrow, putting the health and safety of visitors at the forefront of our decision.

"We will be contacting all exhibitors, trade stands and sponsors in the next few hours but please help us spread the word and share this post with friends and family.

"It’s not easy to make this decision especially after all the hard work that Jane (secretary), Andrew (president) and the committee have put in over the last 18 months to put on this one-day show.

"Please be patient with us as we try to notify everyone and understand it is not the outcome we wanted but it is the best for the show and you our visitors."
