Kinnoull remaining grounded despite unbeaten league start, says Ben Ragan

They have made a strong and confident start to their East of Scotland League campaign.

But attacker Ben Ragan has highlighted the importance of Kinnoull remaining grounded.

Alan Cameron’s men have won their opening two Conference B fixtures ahead of welcoming Heriot-Watt University to Tulloch Park on Saturday afternoon.

A defeat in the Challenge Cup to Lowland League side Spartans last week has not taken the wind out of the Perth team’s sail.

“It’s never good to lose but I thought - and I’m sure the lads will think so as well - that the game was a great learning experience for us,” Ragan said.

“That is the level we all want to get to. I thought we played some good football in the first half.

“And then in the second half they really showed their quality which got them a thoroughly deserved result in the end.

“We are now expecting a tough game from Heriot-Watt.

“We know from last season that they were really good at keeping the ball.

“But we are all confident that we can deliver on the day and keep up our good start to the league.”

Ragan added: “We aren’t getting too ahead of ourselves. We are taking it a game at a time and going on from there.

“As for myself, I’m really happy with the way I’ve started this season. I just want to keep it up and help the team win as much as possible.

“We have learned a lot from last season and we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves as there are a lot of quality teams in the league. But hopefully we will be up there challenging at the end.”

Luncarty, who are sitting pretty on three wins from three in the Conference B, are without a league game this weekend.
