Kingswood man said to be dealing drugs for organised crime group is jailed

A Kingswood man stopped by police in Bristol was dealing drugs for an organised crime group, a court heard.

Ergys Pirraci was pulled over in a car at 10.45pm on March 14.

Bristol Crown Court was told bags of cocaine and cash were found hidden in his vehicle.

Pirraci, 23, of Regent Street, pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine with intent to supply.

Judge Martin Picton jailed him for three years.

He told Pirraci: "This was not unsophisticated drug dealing.

"There was hidden money and a number of wraps found.

"This was a well organised and active exercise being undertaken by you and it is accepted on your behalf that this is significant role drug dealing."

Giles Nelson, prosecuting via video link due to coronavirus lockdown, said initially Pirraci gave police false details and showed them a photo of a driving licence on his phone.

Police searched him and found three SIM cards and £300 in cash.

Mr Nelson said Pirraci was taken to a police station, where he tried to delete messages on his phone.

Police found the messages contained postcodes and included 36 "dispatch" addresses.

A search of his car revealed 15 snap bags of cocaine valued at between £300 and £600 and £1,515 in cash.

Also found was a dealer's list, the court heard.

Mr Nelson said: "The Crown says he was a runner for an OCG, an organised crime group."

James McKenna, defending via video link, said Pirraci was likely to be deported from the UK and urged for as short a custodial sentence as possible.
