Kingsknowe Road North incident: Residents' fears after 'stabbing and robbery' in Edinburgh

An Edinburgh street was closed off by police on Saturday evening with residents reporting a "stabbing and robbery".

A police van and cars were visible on Kingsknowe Road North at 10pm last night as the route was shut off near the Longstone area.

One member of the public, who lives in the area, expressed fears to Edinburgh Live that a stabbing and robbery had taken place, and that drugs were involved.

They said: "Stabbing/robbery tonight at 9.45pm at Longstone Place/ Kingsknowe Road North."

They added that it appeared to be "drug fuelled" and that a heavy police presence could be seen on the street.

Police have been contacted about the incident.
