Kingsdown assault: Police seek man and women who left scene in silver van

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted outside the Kingsdown Co-op at 7:30am this morning (Tuesday, November 7).

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said a man in his 30s is receiving treatment in hospital for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Blood was seen on the pavement, and a cordon was put in place in front of the Kingsdown Co-op after the assault, with police and ambulance attending the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the assault, and say they are keen to speak to two men and a woman who were seen leaving the scene in a silver van after the assault.

Bristol Live understands that the shop remained open as the emergency response was ongoing and officers conducted enquiries at the scene.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing after a man in his 30s was assaulted at approximately 7.30am this morning (Tuesday 9 November) in the Tyndalls Park Mews area of Bristol.

“The victim is being treated in hospital for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

“Officers are keen to speak to two men and a woman seen leaving the scene in a silver van following the assault.

“Anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information is asked to call 101 and quote reference 5221263244.”

The Co-op in Kingsdown is located at the top of St Michael's Hill and is popular with students in particular.

The Bristol University campus is around a one minute walk away, with Bristol Grammar School just beyond it, and Cotham School is around two minutes walk away in the other direction.
