The Kings of Leon filled St James' Park back in 2014 when they delighted the crowd by playing all their most famous songs. And they returned in 2017 when they declared Newcastle's arena fans "the best so far".
Now the American superstars have announced that they are returning to Newcastle for one of two UK arena dates, along with another in London's Finsbury Park.
The band, fronted by Caleb Followill, who plays with brothers Jared and Nathan and cousin Matthew Followill got a fantastic reception at the then Metro Radio Arena, and were treated to a warm night in the Newcastle United football stadium in July 2014.
Their hits include Sex on Fire, Closer, Cold Dessert, Fans and Crawl. Their last album, Walls - which stands for We Are Like Love Songs was released in October 2016.
Their 7th album WALLS was their first to simultaneously debut at Number 1 in the UK and USA. It also continued a run of five consecutive albums to debut at Number 1 in the UK.
Recent festival headline appearances have included Lollapalooza in Brazil, Chile & Berlin (twice), Rock Werchter, Benicàssim, Mexico’s Pal Norte to a crowd of over 100,000 people, as well as Reading & Leeds in the UK, & more.
They will play at the Utilita Arena on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

Tickets for the Utilita Arena performance go on sale at 9am on Friday, February 7 and are available online from Ticketmaster.
