Kings of Leon's spat with Glee creator Ryan Murphy

And finally, to the Kings Of Leon (above) and their improbable online spat with Glee creator Ryan Murphy. It began when the band refused permission for their music to be covered by the Glee cast, which they described as tantamount to "selling out". The warring factions have since traded accusations of homophobia and cries of "fucking assholes", but Lost in Showbiz fully understands the Kings Of Leon's stand.

This is, after all, a band whose rigorous opposition to compromising the artistry of their vision in any way was first established around the time they allowed their music to be used to advertise the Volkswagen Jetta. After all, what says "We are a hard-drinking rock'n'roll band who thumb our noses at the stultifying conformity of bourgeois life" quite like an affordable family saloon?

Lost in Showbiz looks forward to the Kings Of Leon further underlining their rigorous opposition to compromising the artistry of their vision by launching their own range of eyewear (Specs On Fire), bodybuilding equipment (Pecs On Fire), stag weekend breaks to Prague (Czechs On Fire) and transparent thermoplastics for use as acrylic glass substitutes (Perspex On Fire).
