Kings of Convenience coming to Bangkok

Music fans in Bangkok can look forward to an intimate year-end performance as the pop duo Kings of Convenience return to Thailand for Maho Rasop Series: Kings of Convenience by HAVE YOU HEARD?, on Dec 1 at SiamPic Hall.

The concert marks the second announcement for Maho Rasop Series 2026, the ongoing live music series. Following the earlier reveal of Caribou, the latest addition shifts towards something quieter and more delicate, welcoming one of indie folk-pop's most beloved acts back to Bangkok.

Formed by Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe, Kings of Convenience emerged from Norway in the early 2000s with a sound built around soft acoustic guitar melodies, understated arrangements, and harmonies that felt both deeply personal and timeless.

Their debut album Quiet Is The New Loud quickly earned international acclaim and introduced listeners to songs such as Winning A Battle, Losing The War, helping define a calmer, more introspective era of indie music.

Over the years, the duo built a devoted following around the world, particularly across Asia and Thailand, where their music became a familiar soundtrack in cafés, record shops and quiet late-night playlists alike.

Their second album, Riot On An Empty Street, further cemented their reputation with fan favourites including Misread, Cayman Islands and Know How. The record also featured collaborations with acclaimed Canadian artist Feist, whose voice blended naturally with the duo's warm and minimalist songwriting style.

Their third album, Declaration Of Dependence, continued to expand their sound while preserving the intimacy that made Kings of Convenience so enduring. Songs such as Mrs. Cold, Me In You and Rule My World showcased a richer emotional palette without losing the gentle simplicity that defines the band.

After more than a decade away from the studio, Kings of Convenience returned with Peace Or Love reuniting once again with Feist and reminding listeners why their music continues to resonate across generations. The album marked a welcome return for longtime fans while introducing the duo to a new audience discovering their quietly emotional songwriting for the first time.

For their Bangkok performance this December, audiences can expect a setlist spanning the band's celebrated catalogue, featuring both classic favourites and newer material performed in an all-seated theatre setting designed to complement the warmth and intimacy of their live sound.

Maho Rasop Series: Kings of Convenience by HAVE YOU HEARD? takes place on Dec 1 at SiamPic Hall. Ticket prices range from 2,600 to 3,600 baht, available now via hyhbkk.live.
