THQ Nordic is releasing a remastered version of its 2013 RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, a version the company is calling 'Re:Reckoning'.

The remaster of this game can be expected to feature upscaled graphics and improved gameplay systems.

"From the minds of the bestselling author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston, comes Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning," reads the games listing on the Microsoft Store.

"Remastered with stunning visuals and refined gameplay Re-Reckoning delivers intense, customizable RPG combat inside a sprawling game world."

The original version of the game was well-received when it was first released in 2013, scoring an 81 on Metacritic.

But, there was a glaring problem with the almost MMO-amount of grinding and quests to do, which killed a lot of enjoyment for the game.

Kingdoms of Amalur is your classic fantasy RPG setting and comes complete with everything you'd expect from that setting.

It doesn't offer much to the overall formula, but it was contrived from a mix of people. A New York Times bestselling author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston all combined their efforts to create the original Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning,

Strangely, this remaster wasn't exactly announced, as much as it was accidentally found on the Microsoft Store.

With that in mind, it is unclear if this is a Microsoft Store exclusive or if it will be coming to consoles as well.

The original game is available to play on Steam.
