Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes First Look: The future for apes and humans hangs in the balance as a new tyrannical leader emerges

The past and future collide in the much-anticipated first-look teaser of 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes'.

The makers on Friday dropped a gripping teaser trailer, a poster, and a set of captivating stills from the upcoming release that is sure to make the long wait worthwhile. The teaser offered a promising action-adventure spectacle that deep-dives into this epic saga, directed by Wes Ball. Going by the teaser, the film follows in the footsteps of its previous instalments, including 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' (2011), 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' (2014), and 'War for the Planet of the Apes' (2017).

Infusing new life into this global franchise, the new film will reportedly catapult viewers several generations into the future following Caesar's rule. In this dystopian world, apes reign supreme, while pushing the human race into the shadows.

While the two species live in harmony, a new tyrannical ape leader is on the rise, building his empire and threatening to tip the scales. This prompts one young ape to embark on a journey that challenges everything he knows about the past and forces him to make choices that will shape the future for both apes and humans.

'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' features an ensemble cast including Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, and William H. Macy.

Fans can mark their calendars, as the film is set to hit theaters on May 24, 2024.
