King Vuniyayawa gets to grips with Leeds Rhinos team-mates for the first time

King Vuniyayawa has linked up with his new team-mates for the first time following his move to Leeds Rhinos.

The Fijian arrived in the country last week and after serving a five-day quarantine period, was able to report for training on Tuesday morning.

The club couldn't wait to show off their new star in training as they posted a string of pictures as he rubbed shoulders with his team-mates for the first time.

Vuniyayawa, 25, has joined the Challenge Cup winners from Leeds Rhinos on a one-year contract after making five appearances for NRL side New Zealand Warriors last year.

Capped three times by Fiji, Vuniyayawa hopes his move to Super League will help secure him a place in their World Cup squad, with regular first-team action been the main appeal behind his move to the club.

Leeds have made three signings ahead of the season. Zane Tetevano has joined the club as their new marquee player while Bodene Thompson has signed permanently after a successful loan spell at the end of last season.

Tetevano and Matt Prior are both expected to arrive in the country later this week, which will then give Richard Agar a full squad to work with ahead of the Super League restart next month.

The likes of Luke Gale, Jack Walker and Harry Newman are all recovering from injuries.
