
His Majesty the King has conveyed his thanks to everyone involved in organising the coronation ceremonies on May 4-6, according to an announcement released by the Bureau of the Royal Household on Sunday.
His Majesty's message of thanks was relayed to the public by the bureau's secretary-general.
In the announcement, His Majesty thanked and commended everyone associated with making the ceremonies, which were "a spectacle of grandeur and magnificence", a success.
The event was actively participated in by people from all walks of life as well as government officials, the private sector, military, police, royal court staff and volunteers.
His Majesty the King said that the unity of the people had been the reason that the ceremonies had proceeded in an "orderly and splendid manner, reflecting time-honoured cultural arts and customs".
The coronation ceremonies made it profoundly clear that the people are steadfast in their love and attachment to the institution of the monarchy, Their Majesties the King and Queen as well as the royal family members, according to the announcement.
On May 6, His Majesty the King said he was impressed by the unity among the Thai people who turned out in their droves to offer him their best wishes.
His Majesty delivered his speech when he appeared side by side with Her Majesty the Queen on the balcony of Suddhaisavarya Prasad Throne Hall before a jubilant sea of yellow-clad Thais.
