Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz traveled to Oman on Monday to offer his condolences over the passing of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

He was received at the al-Aalam palace by Haitham bi Tariq, Qaboos’ successor.

In a Royal Decree, King Salman tasked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, with running state affairs during his travel abroad.

Sultan Qaboos passed away last week.
